Usually this is a series of side quests connected to a single story line or character. Continuous side quests expand the apparent depth of the story by providing a group of parallel storylines, rather than a single main story. |

Continuous side quests give the player a sense of congruency to the world. It makes the world consist of a group of story lines, rather than a single main story, with only small isolated side quests outside of it. One possible downside to this pattern is the idea of "locking out" the player. In essence, if both the Quest dependency and Clock dependency are true for a continuous side quest, the player can be "locked out" of an entire continuous side quest line, for failing to complete a single quest. | |
